Website Traffic + SEO2025 vs 2026

cmpsportswear.com in Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Search Console. Jan 1 – Oct 21 each year, pulled Oct 22, 2026.

Real visits (engaged sessions)+83%28,097 → 51,363
Organic search visits+60%7,901 → 12,603 sessions
HubSpot form submissions+88%382 → 719 (hs_form_sub)
All sessions+94%71,272 → 137,958, but about 40% of 2026 is junk (see below)

"Engaged" = a visit that lasted 10+ seconds, viewed 2+ pages or converted. It's the number to trust this year because two channels are inflated by bots and link scanners.

Real visits by month

Engaged sessions, all channels. 2026 is ahead every month except September (4,544 vs 4,878), when Paid Search and PMax ran lighter than last year. October 2026 runs through the 22nd and includes the Oct 13–15 email spike.

Two channels are inflated

Paid Social (Meta)

55,311 sessions, 0 seconds

Paid Social is the biggest channel by sessions and the weakest by every quality measure. 17% engaged, an average visit of 0 seconds, 7 key events all year. 2025 looked the same (10% engaged). The clicks are coming from placements like Audience Network and accidental taps, not coaches.

Email

October's spike is scanners

17,842 email sessions in October alone. Most came from zbvyduvzc / email and data-centre cities (San Jose, Moses Lake, Des Moines). School and corporate mail filters click every link before a person opens the email. Real email visits are up too, but the October number is not 17.8K people.

Leads

HubSpot form submissions nearly doubled. GA4's "key events" total fell (1,716 → 856), but that's a change in what was counted, not lost leads.

Up · Forms

382 → 719 HubSpot submissions

Quotes and contact forms (hs_form_sub), Jan 1 – Oct 21. The old WordPress quote pages also logged 82 more in 2026 (xc / bb / sb_form_sub).

Down · Click tracking

Calls 98 → 15 · Emails 254 → 89

In 2025 the key-event total also counted social-icon clicks (858 of them) and click-to-call / click-to-email taps. The new site's links don't fire those GTM triggers the way the WordPress ones did, so taps go uncounted. The new generate_lead event is on the site but still needs its GTM tag published (TRACKING.md).

Best lead channels, 2026

Brand vs non-brand searches

People who already know us find us. People shopping for gear mostly don't.

Branded searches

4,227 clicks · 43K impressions

79% of the clicks Search Console can attribute to a query. Includes "compound sportswear", "compound wrestling", "cmp sportswear" and "stilly boys" (that store lives on retail.cmpsportswear.com and drives about 2,400 clicks on its own).

Non-brand searches

1,135 clicks · 822K impressions

We show up 19× more often for generic searches but get clicked 0.14% of the time. "singlet" alone is 497K impressions at position 5.3 and 60 clicks. Those impressions are almost all the Pro Series singlet product pages, most likely in Google's shopping and image results, where nobody clicks a listing with no price.

Search Console only lists the top 1,000 queries and hides rare ones, so these add up to less than the 11.5K total.

What the launch cost

13 days after the Oct 8 launch vs the 13 days before: clicks 865 → 610 (−29%), impressions 164.5K → 69.6K (−58%). Some dip is normal while Google re-crawls. Two causes aren't normal, and both can be fixed.

These were live on WordPress until Oct 7, still rank, and now land on "page not found." The 10/10 old-URL check used the 2025 Wayback sitemaps, which didn't list them.

2 · Singlets left Google Shopping

Pro Series singlet: 51.7K → 10.4K impressions

Women's Pro Series singlet: 26.3K → 0.7K. Both pages still load, but their product data has no price (offers), so they no longer qualify for Google's free shopping listings. That's where the "singlet" impressions came from. The listing also carries two sample coach reviews in its data (one is about fight shorts on the singlet page). Google penalises review markup that isn't real.

How we grow reach + SEO

This week: stop the leak

  1. Bring back the 5 posts at their original URLs from the WordPress export / Wayback, and 301 /product-category/wrestling/ and /sustainability/ to their new homes. Then re-check every URL Search Console showed before launch, not just the old sitemaps. 7 of the 105 we checked are 404.
  2. Decide on product prices in Google (your call). Free shopping listings need a price. Options: a "starting at" price in the product data only (not on the quote flow), or accept losing the Shopping strip for "singlet" (about 40K impressions a week across the two singlet pages before launch).
  3. Pull the sample reviews out of product data unless they're real coach reviews. Keep only real ones.
  4. Fix lead tracking: publish the generate_lead GTM tag, restore click-to-call / click-to-email events on the new site, and link Search Console to GA4 (not linked today).

Next 30 days: win the money keywords

  1. Tighten the pages that should rank for the table above: title, H1 and first paragraph that say the search in plain words ("Custom Wrestling Singlets", "Custom Wrestling Uniforms", "Wrestling Team Packages"), a short FAQ with FAQ schema, and 3–4 internal links to each from the blog. "custom wrestling singlets" sits at position 31 today.
  2. Point the blog at sales pages. The posts rank 4–5 for 10K+-impression searches ("what is a singlet", "cross country vs track", "what do wrestlers wear") but convert little. Every post gets a contextual link + quote CTA to the matching category or bundle. The daily blog engine should aim new posts at the buying-intent list, not only questions.
  3. Rewrite titles + meta descriptions on pages ranking 3–8 with CTR under 1% (singlet pages, track/XC, wrestling bags). Same position, more clicks.
  4. Mobile speed: 77 URLs "need improvement" on mobile Core Web Vitals vs 45 on desktop. 38% of visitors are on phones.

This season: grow reach beyond Google's page 1

  1. Backlinks from people who already know us. Referral traffic is tiny (869 sessions). Ask partners (Elite 8, Wrestling IQ, Mile High, Triumph, Cali Girls, C4) and every school with a Compound store to link "Uniforms by Compound Sportswear" to cmpsportswear.com. Each link lifts every ranking above.
  2. Move Meta spend off junk placements. 55K Paid Social sessions brought 7 key events. Turn off Audience Network, optimise for landing-page views or leads, and judge it on engaged sessions.
  3. Filter bots in GA4: exclude the link-scanner source (zbvyduvzc) and data-centre traffic in a saved comparison, and turn the internal-traffic filter from Testing to Active, so next year's comparison is clean.
